Okay I am weighing in on the health care debate. Americans give hundreds of thousands of dollars to victims of natural disasters. We run to peoples aid. And it doesn't even have to have celebrity endorsement. We just run to peoples aid. There is something great about America taht we know we will be fine because we are Americans. And We can tackle mass problems head on and be okay. However, we are not as clever when that mass distruction comes in the form of a "slow drip". Health care is just that a slow drip problem that is turning into the mighty Mississippi river. Like the source of the Mississippi, health care for one person is a challenge but not impossible. But in mass, when all the source problems come together, the Mighty Mississippi moves land. It over powers what each of us can do as individuals it will take a great effort to change its flow. It will take us, in mass to change things regarding how we care for everyone in this country.
If a family member is sick, or a neighbor that needs you to help, Most people will help. Most of the World have universal health care. We need to have universal health care. It should be universal. My parents are paying $1000 a month with insurance, I pay $500 a month with insurance, My uncle works for an insurance company - he is vexing over how he has to deny insurance policy and coverage to people so the company can prove a point to he world that Obahma's plan (a plan for america) has "screwed" things up. So that Insurance companies can charge what they want. so drug companies can charge what they want. So its making me- who believes in the Idea of America. Thomas Jeffersons America, a person that liked doing his taxes because its the active process of citizenship, a person that things April 15th should be a holiday because -we as a nation come together to pay for the roads, the bridges, the fire department, public transportation and food service and you know medical services for those that do not have the money to care for themselves. We should have parades, we should celebrate that we have come together. Its not taxation without representation. There is no need for a "tea party." People in companies did a bad thing and continue to do bad things. justice will be served.
so that was my brief soap boxes. and i left a lot of holes in my argument. But- cliffnotes version is paying for everyone to have health care means we all have better health care. Everybody with health care means, you, your family, your friends, your neighbors-everybody. Everyone with health care means everyone gets better. People get better, the country gets better. We can achieve more. We can care for the sick, we have energy to not get sick ourselves, we can care better. And isn't that the the point of life. [We are not a virus on this planet- but currently we are acting like it. What if we have the relationship in reverse. But thats another thought.] We should not have to worry about money for medication- so that means more consumer buying power. (right now with Americas drug cost- it is like the drug companies are making us pay for the rest of the worlds medication. Americans pay insane amount of money for the same drugs that Canada has or Mexico has or Europe, Africa and Asia.) BUT- here is the beauty of America. Please remember this- We give the most of any country. We help the most in earthquakes, tidal waves, and floods, we are there to help our neighbors. We make that connection, we are clever. We need to make that connection with health care. We need to all become responsible and realize we care. So tax day should be a celebration. a celebration that we came together and made a difference in all of our lives. We provided for ourselves, our family, our neighbors and the world. And that is the idea of America that I hold.
